Forgive not Forget
Forgive not Forget
Forgive Not Forget is a hymn to patience, wisdom, and divinity—a fragrance that burns like incense on holy days and warms like spiced red wine. It’s a tribute to frankincense and the sacred scents of Mediterranean Easter traditions.
Top Notes: clementine, bergamot, frankincense
Middle Notes: sweet frankincense, nag champa, cocoa absolute
Base Notes: cistus ladanifer, amber, cedarwood, sandalwood
The opening is bright and bittersweet, with clementine and bergamot cutting through like sunlight. The heart is smoky and rich, led by sweet frankincense and nag champa, warmed by the unexpected touch of cocoa absolute. The base is grounding and sacred, with labdanum and amber wrapped in the soft, woody embrace of cedarwood and sandalwood. It’s resinous, warm, sweet, smoky, and slightly spiced—a scent that feels both ancient and timeless, holy and deeply human.
This fragrance is a reflection of my childhood in Greece and the sacred rituals of Easter week. The smoky swirl of frankincense at church, the earthy warmth of myrrh, and the spiced richness of red wine shared during communion—all of these moments inspired Forgive Not Forget. It’s about the weight of tradition, the patience required to truly forgive, and the wisdom that comes from carrying your memories forward. I wanted to honor frankincense, and weave it with the sun-soaked, aromatic qualities of the Mediterranean. It is about the contradictions of forgiveness—the struggle between letting go and holding on. It’s inspired by those moments when you say, “I forgive you,” but the memory still aches, sharp and vivid. For me, it’s not about weakness or bitterness—it’s about power. About embracing the scars, the lessons, the grit of life, and wearing them with pride. Forgive Not Forget is a love letter to resilience, to being vulnerable yet unbreakable.
